This is the B side to Blue Monday which is without a doubt one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. 'The Beach' is really just an instrumental of Blue Monday with some slight differences. You can find it on the compilation 'Substance' which I would strongly recommend purchasing.

Daniel Dumile is a rapper who has recorded under many different aliases including Zev Love X, MF Doom, Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah and Madlib. He released "Hoe Cakes" under the MF Doom name from the album MMM Food. MF Doom is one of the most interesting & innovative characters in hip-hop and has worked with some very big names including Ghostface, Danger Mouse and Madlib. He also puts in an appearance on the Gorrilaz album "Demon Days". Doom is definitely one of my favourite rappers especially as he's inspired by my favourite comic book character, Marvel Comics "supervillain" Doctor Doom.

Suicide were two visionaries from New York who made some of the most primitive, disturbing and brilliant music of the punk era. Although never widely popular their music has been hugely influential on a variety of bands from the more obvious such as Peaches, Primal Scream and Soft Cell, to the quite surprising such as REM and Bruce Springsteen. Armed with a drum machine and a synthesizer they made some strange and sometimes quite beautiful music.

The Knife are a brother sister duo from Sweden, they also run their own record company Rabid Records. This is the Rex the Dog remix of Heartbeats although most people will be more familiar with the Jose Gonzalez cover. This is definitely the best version and will always remind me of flying back from a very long and messy weekend in Prague. Anyway, have a listen and see what you think.

Todays offering is from the wonderfully named !!! (apparently pronounced chk chk chk ). It's a cover of the Magnetic Fields song "Take Ecstasy With Me" taken from the EP of the same name. It's a beautiful song, best listened to lying on your back in the sunshine. Unfortunately it's dark and cold right now, so you'll just have to use your imagination.
You can find out more about !!! at there MySpace page www.myspace.com/loudchkchkchk

There was house. Today for some reason as mostly been spent listening to some very old house music. I was five years old when "Can You Feel It" by Mr Fingers came out and yet twenty years on it still sounds fresh, which can't be said about most other music from that period. So have a listen and get jacking.
